Each player begins the hand with two cards. The player to the left of the dealer starts the betting by saying, “hit.” If your cards are not good value, you can say stay. Alternatively, you can double up by saying ayup.
If your cards are of high value, you can call to place a higher bet. This is called raising. The other players can choose to call or fold.
A player who raises must match the previous active player’s stake or drop out of the pot. In the event of a tie, the winner is determined by the higher-ranking hand. The player who raises most successfully will dominate the pot. There may also be various side pots. The original pot is awarded to the player who calls a later bet.
